Yeken Branding

A complete rebranding for a Dundee based developer specialising in WordPress plugins, along with several additional services. The top priority for this project was to create branding that would be able to tie a multifaceted business together with flexible branding for the main WordPress development side, but also be used later on to expand a drone for hire service under the Yeken umbrella.

Flexibility for this was key. Having researched both local and international companies that work in the tech and drone sectors, I originally looked at a way of encompassing the different parts of the business by creating a logo mark joined up of hexagons and octagons. This concept was phased out and replaced by a custom logo type that fitted well with a technology based company.

When it came to design the logo mark itself, I fell back on the earlier octagon designs – using the negative outline of the Y inside the shape to give a flexible visual cue of the brand. This was then able to be incorporated in the WordPress icons to give a cohesive representation of the company in the WordPress repository.

Alongside the branding, I put together a template for the company’s new website. This carries on the brand aesthetics with a clean and concise new design that puts a focus on the company’s services. By using the clean layout it gives the customer easy access the purchase options for the all plugins while letting them learn a bit more about the company from first glance.
